New Delhi, October 13:
The corridors of power in the national capital, New Delhi, witnessed high-voltage drama and intense activity today. Demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and pushing for transparent electoral reforms, the top leadership of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) caught the administration off guard this morning by storming the restricted Jantar Mantar area, breaching heavy police security cordons and barricades.
This dramatic demonstration was led by prominent CJP figures—Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and Ajinkya Shinde. Holding the national tricolor in their hands, the leaders raised fierce anti-government and anti-Election Commission slogans. The sudden entry of the leaders into the prohibited zone sent shockwaves through the security forces and intelligence apparatus deployed on-site. Sensing the gravity of the situation, the Delhi Police immediately swung into action, detaining all key leaders by force and removing them to an undisclosed location. Following the incident, the political temperature in the capital has skyrocketed, and security agencies have been put on high alert.
The controversy deepened significantly after the Delhi Police and local administration recently ‘de-notified’ (completely prohibited) Jantar Mantar from the list of official protest sites. In its place, the administration designated distant locations such as Ramlila Maidan, Burari, and CBD Ground as alternative sites for demonstrations. The Cockroach Janta Party and various civil rights organizations across the country have termed this unilateral decision an outright assault on citizens’ fundamental, democratic, and free speech rights guaranteed under Article 19 of the Indian Constitution. Supporters of the detained leaders firmly asserted that the government and administration are resorting to oppressive tactics to crush democratic dissent—something the youth of the country will not tolerate.
